Levy consultation process 2011/2012

This page covers the process for last year’s (2011/12) levy consultation (not to be confused with this year’s 2012/13 starting in July 2011).

2011/12 levy consultation dates

The 2011/12 consultation period ran for 28 days from 1 October 2010 to 29 October 2010 and began with the release of the consultation documents. Submissions were invited from interested parties during this period.

The submissions were considered and then ACC made recommendations to the Minister for ACC Nick Smith; these were made public on 12 November 2010.

ACC levy rates 2011/12

On 23 December 2010, the ACC Minister announced the final ACC levy rates for 2011/12 (PDF 420K). These rates were considered and agreed by Cabinet to be passed into legislation.

The new rates for the Work Account (including Residual Claims Account) and Earners’ Account came into effect on 1 April 2011, followed by the Motor Vehicle rates, which came into effect on 1 July 2011.
