Consumables

Consumables

Medical products used for a therapeutic purpose that:

  • are not pharmaceuticals
  • are not re-usable
  • a client is assessed as needing
  • are required as a result of a client’s covered personal injury to assist in restoring his or her health, independence and participation to the maximum extent possible
  • are cost effective, and
  • have evidence to justify their use.

Examples:

Hearing aid batteries; wound dressings; feeding tube sets; sterile gloves.
