Medical products used for a therapeutic purpose that:
- are not pharmaceuticals
- are not re-usable
- a client is assessed as needing
- are required as a result of a client’s covered personal injury to assist in restoring his or her health, independence and participation to the maximum extent possible
- are cost effective, and
- have evidence to justify their use.
Examples:
Hearing aid batteries; wound dressings; feeding tube sets; sterile gloves.
