Preface
The Accident Compensation Corporation (ACC) manages about 1.7 million injury claims every year. Since 1994 ACC has published information on the incidence, nature, and cost of work and non-work related injury claims. Since the first issue, this publication has gained interest from various groups including health practitioners and academics, employers and trade unions, injury prevention and accident rehabilitation researchers, and university and high school students.
The statistics quoted in this report were extracted from ACC’s Data Warehouse 9 August 2008. As data continually changes, historical figures may be slightly different from those in previous publications. Definition changes may also affect figures reported for previous periods.
