Section 13. Sensitive Claims
<< Section< PageContentsPage >Section >>
Preamble
Sensitive claims are where the client suffered an injury as a result of being the victim of specific types of criminal behaviour. These types of behaviour are listed in the Accident Insurance Act. They relate mostly to sexual crimes. Cover can exist where the client has sustained a physical personal injury, or mental, or nervous shock. Conviction does not have to result. The claims for sexual abuse are called ‘sensitive claims’. In this section, all sensitive claims are reported regardless of whether they received entitlements.
