The consultation period is part of the wider levy setting process that occurs every year. The timetable below shows the steps in the process and when they occur.

Report and recommendations made to ACC Board on proposed rates for the coming year

August-September

Consultation documents published with proposed rates and submissions invited

August-October

Submissions close after a minimum of 4 weeks

September-November

Recommendations to Minister for ACC on proposed rates, including comments made by levy payers

November

Minister submits his recommendation on final levy rates to Cabinet for its decision

December

New levy rates announced and regulations drafted

January

New levy rates take effect
