Any employer can apply for entry to the ACC Partnership Programme, although it is more suitable for large employers whose levies exceed $250,000 per year. Employers must meet a list of criteria and pass a health and safety audit process before being eligible to join the ACC Partnership Programme.
ACC Partnership Programme criteria
Before being accepted into the ACC Partnership Programme, your business must:
- demonstrate long-term financial stability and the ability to meet the cost of work-related injuries
- have active workplace safety systems and processes in place
- have active injury management procedures in place, including claims administration and rehabilitation support
- demonstrate the involvement of employees and their representatives in workplace safety
- meet the programme audit standards for workplace safety and injury management and be able to demonstrate a commitment to injury prevention.
To find out more, download the ACC Partnership Programme Audit Standards booklet ACC440 ACC Partnership Programme Audit Standards (PDF 606K).
If you meet the entry criteria, an ACC Partnership Programme agreement is signed and you become an ‘accredited employer’.
A copy of the agreement is available on request from ACC.
Health and safety audit process
Many of the entry requirements are assessed during an independent health and safety audit, which is carried out by an ACC-approved independent auditor of your choice.
Employers and ACC share the cost of the audit, according to pre-set limits of approximately 50% of total costs.
We will let you know how and where to arrange the audit. You can choose the auditor from a list of ACC-approved independent auditors.
