From 1July2009, ACC will begin using a new early intervention vocational rehabilitation service, Stay at Work, which is designed to help people get back to work safely and as soon as possible following injury. This will replace the current Graduated Return to Work service. All incumbent Graduated Return to Work vendors will be offered the new contract.
Stay at Work is an action-oriented service, which focuses on vendors working with clients and key stakeholders such as their employer, whanau, and treatment provider to remove any barriers so the client can return to work as soon as possible.
This service covers the spectrum of injuries, from simple matters requiring minimal but timely intervention to more complex conditions requiring longer term planning and more intensive support and interventions.
Stay at Work supports ACC’s philosophy that clients will recover better at work: research shows that people recover faster from injury when in the workplace, and enjoy the benefits of social engagement and personal motivation.
