Health providers paid under the Accident Compensation Regulations 2003 will get a 2.22 per cent increase in the amount ACC contributes towards the cost of treatment, consultation and imaging. The new rate will take effect from 1 December 2016.
ACC’s Head of Provider Service Delivery, Graham Dyer, says a consultation process managed by the Ministry of Business Innovation and Employment (MBIE) in April provided feedback on the proposed rate before the final recommendation was put to the Government.
The increase comes under the Accident Compensation (Liability to Pay or Contribute to Cost of Treatment) Regulations 2003 which govern ACC’s contribution to the cost of treatment for New Zealanders.
“Health providers have been made aware of the coming rate change and ACC has provided practice managers with details of the new rate so they can update their Practice Management Systems (PMS) by 1 December 2016.
“Those practices that don’t use a PMS will still be able to invoice ACC for services as they do now,” says Mr Dyer.
The new rates do not change the relativity between the rates paid for different services.
The new rates are available at Cost of Treatment Regulations 2016 changes.
