Injury comparison reports are designed to help Territorial Local Authorities (TLAs) identify areas for injury prevention direction and planning.
The TLA comparison user guide (ACC6583) (PDF 4M) has more information about how to work with the comparison reports.
The reports provide claims trends for all claims overall, as well the five injury prevention priority areas:
- Motor vehicles.
Suicide trends are not included as the data is seen as not meaningful when broken down by Territorial Local Authority (TLA) – a minimum number of deaths would be required to make it meaningful, and only a few TLAs meet this criteria. Users needing these statistics should go to the Ministry of Health website.
