New ISSC Working Group established

Released 08/08/2022

To support us as we evolve the delivery of our services for survivors of sexual violence, we have established the ISSC Evolution Working Group. We will work closely with this group to help us design an improved ISSC service to address key challenges.

The Working Group includes 26 people who hold a wide range of knowledge and experience working in the sexual violence sector. Members were selected to form subgroups that represent four client cohorts - adults, children and young people, men, and Māori.

The four groups had their first online meeting on 15 July 2022, where they learned more about what we’re doing to evolve ISSC services and discussed the changes they would like to address.

The groups will meet online each month until December 2022. Over this time they’ll focus on four broad topics:

  • Entering Services (how people access supports through ACC, from engaging with a provider through to having an engagement form lodged).
  • Assessment (what is needed for an assessment and the process for the assessment).
  • Provision of services (how people access services and what is available, including consideration of how services can be tailored to the needs of a client and their whānau.
  • Outcomes (what the outcomes for the service are and how we can appropriately measure those outcomes).

Their final meeting in December will bring content from previous sessions together, providing a platform for us to build on in early 2023 as we start working towards a new ISSC contract. There will continue to be opportunities to engage with us and the work coming out of the working group through the ISSC Quarterly Conversations.
