Acupuncturists claims must have a GP diagnosis
Recently, we've accepted some claims lodged by acupuncturists without a GP’s diagnosis.
This was an error on our behalf and we'd like to apologise for the confusion it has caused to our providers and their patients.
The correct process for lodging claims
We're aware there's conflicting information about how to lodge claims.
We’d like to remind our providers about the correct process – if you’re an acupuncturist, refer your patient to a medical practitioner. They’ll need to diagnose the injury and lodge a claim before we can determine cover.
