Our Board Chair, Hon Steve Maharey has announced a new appointment to our Board.


ACC Board Chair Hon Steve Maharey is pleased to announce that Minister for ACC Hon. Carmel Sepuloni has appointed Ali’imuamua (Sandra) Alofivae to the ACC Board.

Her first Board meeting will be in May 2022.

“I welcome Sandra to the ACC Board and look forward to her contribution to the direction of ACC,” Hon Maharey says.

Ms Alofivae is an experienced community leader and lawyer. After originally setting up the legal practice King Alofivae Malosi in 1994, she has been a barrister sole since 2005. Sandra was appointed a Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit for services to the Pacific community and youth in 2016.

In 2018 Sandra was appointed as a Commissioner on the Abuse in Care Royal Commission of Inquiry.

She is Chair of the South Auckland Social Well-Being Board and Affirming Works, a not-for-profit social enterprise. She has previously been a Families Commissioner, member of the Counties Manukau District Health Board, and a board member of Housing New Zealand.
