We’re seeking new panel members to join our Sexual Violence Customer Advisory Panel.

ACC’s Customer Advisory Panels have a long history of supporting ACC to ensure we listen to the voice and stories of people across Aotearoa New Zealand.

The Sexual Violence Customer Advisory Panel connects ACC to the voices and needs of survivors of sexual violence and those who support them on their journey.

Together, they provide strategic, experiential, and technical advice to challenge, support, and enable ACC to strengthen prevention, equity, and services to improve outcomes for survivors and whānau now, and in the future.

We’re currently welcoming expressions of interest for ACC’s Sexual Violence Customer Advisory Panel.

We need panel members who:

  • take a strategic approach to ensure the voices of survivors of sexual violence and their whānau are represented within ACC’s sexual violence initiatives and programmes of work
  • bring a broad policy, operational and governance perspective from working with, or alongside, survivors of sexual violence, iwi, hapū and whānau
  • are enthusiastic and passionate about contributing to the continuous improvement of how ACC can support the prevention and response to sexual violence in Aotearoa
  • have the confidence to actively join in helpful and open dialogue in a group setting
  • demonstrate the ability to represent a variety of views, concerns and feedback of others, including survivors of sexual violence, their whānau and providers of support services.

All panellists will have wide knowledge and experience as a leader in the broader sexual violence sector.

This may be through their own experience as a survivor of sexual violence, as a family/whānau member of, or advocate for, survivors of sexual violence, or as an appointed leader and representative of a specific organization related to sexual violence.

Panellists will also be selected to reflect cultural, age, gender, and geographic diversity, with intentional recruitment of members who represent Tangata Whenua, rainbow1 and disabled communities.

Being on the panel

The panellists will join up to 11 others, and will be paid for their time, experience, and expertise. They'll contribute to our focus to be a pro-Tiriti o Waitangi and pro-Equity based organisation. Together, we’ll respond to sexual violence survivors’ needs, expectations, and aspirations.

We will meet on a regular basis online to advise on relevant, important and strategic initiatives and programmes (every 4-8 weeks for up to 3 hours). For example, the Sexual Violence Customer Advisory has an important advisory role in the evolution of the Integrated Services for Sensitive Claims (ISSC: ACC’s service to provide support to survivors of sexual abuse and assault).

Overall, the Sexual Violence Customer Advisory Panel will be a critical ally and supporter of ACC to challenge, support, and enable us to strengthen prevention and deliver improved outcomes for survivors and whānau now, and in the future.
