New ACC Ethics Panel formed
The Panel will safeguard the rights, interests and safety of our customers.
On 13 February, we welcomed four new external members to the new ACC Ethics Panel. Each of them has a strong interest in ethical principles.
The Panel meets monthly to discuss ethical considerations related to projects and initiatives that involve customers as participants. It also discusses using customer information to improve service design and delivery.
We broadened the scope of our ethical oversight following a call for expressions of interest in the Panel in late 2018.
The Panel will safeguard the rights, interests and safety of our customers. It supports and enables high-quality ethical projects for social, cultural and economic wellbeing. The Panel also works to reflect the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi.
The external Panel members are:
- Professor Tim Dare (Chair)
- Rae Lamb
- Ernestynne Walsh
- Richman Wee
The Panel also has representatives from teams across ACC:
- Research & Evaluation
- Customer Insights and Experience
- Information Technology
- Maori and Cultural Capability.
