Bringing Māori ingenuity to the forefront of ACC
To help us better serve our Māori customers, we’re seeking a new panelist to join Whānau Oranga Pūmau (ACC’s Māori Customer Advisory Panel)

We’re now receiving applications for Whānau Oranga Pūmau (ACC’s Māori Customer Advisory Panel), which will help to bring Māori ingenuity to the forefront of ACC.
The aim of Whānau Oranga Pūmau, is to provide strategic and technical advice that will enhance our suite of service options, and identify new opportunities to strengthen access, experience and outcomes for Māori communities.
Utilising matāuranga Māori as a source of ingenuity, the panel will advise on the strengths of a variety of kaupapa Māori initiatives and ideas.
We need a panelist who:
- Takes a strategic approach to ensure the voice of whānau is represented within ACC initiatives and programmes of work
- Brings a broad policy, operational and governance perspective from working with, or alongside, iwi, hapu and whānau
- Is enthusiastic, and can demonstrate success working in kaupapa Māori settings and projects
- Can bring a different perspective based on lived experience
Whānau Oranga Pūmau is an important enabler of Whāia Te Tika, ACC’s Māori strategy, and will be a critical component of delivering improved outcomes for whānau now, and in the future.
Being on the panel
The panellist will join 6 others, and will be paid for their time, experience, and expertise. They'll contribute to our focus to be a pro-Tiriti o Waitangi and pro-Equity based organisation. Together, we’ll respond to Māori needs, expectations, and aspirations.
We will meet on a regular basis to prioritise the aspirations of Whānau and utilise Matauranga Māori and ingenuity to embed te ao Māori perspectives in everything we do.
