Have a free driving instructor in your pocket

Learn to drive the right way and be ready to pass the restricted licence test, first time. Drive Go is New Zealand’s official learn to drive app.

Drive Go is a mobile app designed for young people on a learner licence to help them pass the restricted licence test and become safe and skilled drivers.

The app gives young people the skills to be better drivers. It encourages them to develop and practise driving in a range of conditions. It tracks and rewards driving progress and experience, and helps drivers prepare for the practical test, while their coach is on-hand to guide their learning.

If you’ve ever wanted a professional driving instructor, the app can be used on the go and acts like an instructor in your pocket.

Drive Go is free to download from the Google and Apple app stores.

The Drive programme

The Drive programme was developed for young drivers as they are the most at risk on the road. They’re over-represented in New Zealand’s road crash statistics and road crashes are the second greatest cause of death for 16 to 24-year-olds. Road crashes are also the leading cause of serious injury for this age group.

Drive aims to be the go-to resource for learning to drive in New Zealand.
