The Chief Ombudsman is welcoming public input on how we handle Official Information Act requests.

The Official Information Act (OIA) allows anyone in New Zealand to request official information held by government agencies - including ACC. The act was designed to promote transparency among government agencies and enable public participation in government.

After a landmark investigation five years ago, the Chief Ombudsman is launching a new inquiry to find if central government agencies have addressed any weaknesses that were identified.

If you've made an OIA request to us, or tried to find information about us through a phone call, email or on our website in the past 6 to 12 months, the Chief Ombudsman welcomes your input into his investigation.
