Health innovators - apply for a share of our Innovation Fund
Our Innovation Fund is opening soon. We want to hear from all health innovators who have an idea that will support injured people to:
- stay connected and engaged with their workplace
- recover at work after an injury./li>
We know that supporting people return to work after an injury helps them get better, sooner. It’s good for physical and mental health, as it provides useful physical activity, social connection, and a sense of purpose, which all contribute to a better recovery. It also makes it more likely that they will return to their job and the things they enjoy outside of work, sooner.
It's good for business too. By supporting an injured employee to return earlier and recover at work, businesses can keep vital skills and knowledge, save on recruiting and training new staff. It can help reduce the cost of lost productivity, as well as boost team morale and help build a positive workplace culture.
What we’re looking for
We’re looking for innovative health service initiatives that will support injured people stay connected and recover at work after an injury. This could include:
- introducing new or more efficient pathways of care
- a product that improves access to a service for clients in hard-to-reach places or for specific client groups
- improving a current service that could save you and the injured person time
- technology that provides insights on services the injured person receives and their impact
- a new package of care that can be tailored around the injured person and their workplace that will help them achieve their best outcome.
We know there are a range of ideas out there, this is an opportunity for you to put that idea into action.
The expectation
Ideally it should be ready for implementation and be delivered within three to six months from receiving funding, but we might consider projects that will be delivered in 12 months if it fits the bill.
If you think you have a great idea and need up to $100,000, excluding GST, to implement it, then we want to hear from you.
How to apply
The Registration of Interest is expected to open 18 May 2023 and close 23 June 2023.

Information session
We'll give an overview of this year's focus, the application process and provide an opportunity to ask questions. The date and registration link for the session will be added to the website and on the Innovation Fund Advance Notice on the Government Electronic Tender Service (GETS) website.
