Injuries we cover
Our no-fault scheme covers everyone in New Zealand if you're injured in an accident. It doesn’t matter who you are or what you were doing when you were injured.
-
Injuries we don’t cover
Your injury must be because of an accident. We won't cover things like illness, conditions from ageing and emotional issues.
-
Treatment we can help pay for
ACC can help pay for a range of medical, health and treatment costs if we cover your injury. You may have to pay for part of your treatment costs.
-
If you're a New Zealander injured overseas
If you’re a New Zealand resident and you return home with an injury that happened overseas, ACC can help cover costs.
-
If you're a visitor injured in New Zealand
You’ll receive the same ACC cover as everyone else if you have an injury while visiting New Zealand – it doesn’t matter if you’re not a resident.
