Injuries in New Zealand report released
Each year, ACC accepts more than two million injury claims. Behind every one of those claims is a person whose life has been disrupted, often affecting their ability to work, participate in everyday activities and stay connected to the things that matter most.
To help us build a better understanding of where harm is occurring and where there may be opportunities to make a difference, we’ve released our annual ‘Injuries in New Zealand’ report.
The report brings together insights and trends from across home, sport and recreation, work and road injuries. It looks at the changing patterns of injury in New Zealand and the impact those injuries have on how people live, work and support their whānau, and the communities around them.
The report is intended to support a broader conversation about how we can collectively reduce injuries and improve recovery outcomes for New Zealanders. It highlights the importance of working together across the system to prevent harm, support recovery, and help people stay connected to their communities and everyday lives.
We're looking forward to using these insights as a starting point for conversations with you about how we can work together across the health sector to prevent injuries and support better recovery outcomes for New Zealanders.
