Our annual performance cycle also plays an important role in supporting development. The cycle concludes with a formal year-end review and leader feedback, ensuring a continuous focus on growth and performance.
What wellbeing means for our people:
We foster a culture where care and connection are part of our daily practice. You’ll be supported by empathetic leaders, inclusive teams, and a shared commitment to looking out for each other.
We understand that life isn’t one-size-fits-all. Many of our roles offer flexibility around where and when you work, so you can balance your mahi with your life outside of work.
Through our employee assistance programme (EAP), staff can access confidential counselling support for mental health and emotional well-being. We also provide wellbeing workshops and online support through Oho Māuri, our wellbeing platform.
Four sessions are available for permanent and fixed term employees to support physical and mental wellbeing.
Rongoā Māori has been used by Māori for generations to support hauora (health) and oranga (wellbeing).
Common rongoā Māori modalities include:
- mirimiri, romiromi (bodywork)
- rongoā rākau, wai rākau (herbal remedies)
- karakia (prayer)
- whitiwhiti kōrero (support, advice).
Benefits we offer our people:
When joining ACC, you have the choice of enrolling in KiwiSaver or ACC’s own MySuper scheme.
-
If you're a permanent employee, ACC will contribute 9% of your gross pay to your chosen scheme (KiwiSaver or MySuper).
-
If you’re working on a casual basis and contribute to a scheme, ACC will contribute 3% to your chosen scheme (Kiwisaver or MySuper).
Permanent ACC employees have access to discounted premiums through our group scheme with Southern Cross Health Society. You'll also have the option to waive the standard three-month stand-down period when you join.
All ACC employees working more than 20 hours a week are automatically covered under our group policy with Fidelity Life. This includes cover for:
- Death
- Total and permanent disablement (TPD)
- Terminal illness
We provide access to a range of staff discounts on banking, technology, eye exams, travel, and more.
Support when growing your family:
Expanding whānau (family) is a major life change, and we want to support and ease the transition back to work.
To support our permanent staff during this important time, we offer a parental leave top-up for the first six weeks of statutory paid parental leave to help ease into this period.
Staff returning from parental leave have the option to work part-time hours for up to 12 months, including those in frontline roles. This support helps ease the transition back to work while balancing life with a growing whānau.
