Tux's story

A day in the life as an Injury Prevention Partner.

Video transcript for Tux's story
So what I do in a day, my role is I act
as the conduit between ACC national
level and community regional level. So
I'm that bridge. I worked as a police
officer for over a decade. So I've
always cared about helping people and
making sure they're looked after and
injury prevention just made sense to me.
I think for me it's the people. Uh
something special about the people I
work with is the genuine sense of
support and teamwork. We lift each other
up. What excites me about my work is
knowing that what I do directly helps
people stay healthy and active. For me,
seeing an athlete stay on the field
because of something I helped put in
place. That was the moment I knew I was
on the right path. I think for me it
what keeps me driven and passionate
about this job is seeing people recover
faster doing what they love with their
family and their faro. You have to care
for your community and you'll have to
have that drive to make a difference.
