Medical certification dashboard now live
We’re excited to announce the launch of our new medical certification dashboard. This dashboard replaces the previous. ‘Your ACC Dashboard’ reports and marks a significant step towards greater transparency and openness in sharing data.
What we’re seeing
Our data is showing a trend of people taking longer to recover from injury and get back to work or independence. We’re also seeing a difference in the number of ‘fit for selected work’ and ‘fully unfit’ medical certificates being issued for similar injury types across different practices.
There is strong evidence that the longer someone remains off work, the less likely they are to return, which can negatively affect their physical and mental wellbeing, their whānau, and the wider community.
How the dashboard helps
The new dashboard empowers certifying providers to review and compare their certification and return-to-work data with their peers, helping them identify trends and benchmark their performance and support better patient outcomes.
It provides detailed information on medical certification practice, including the number and ratios of ‘fully unfit’ and ‘fit for selected work’ certificates, average incapacity durations, and return-to-work timeframes. Certifying providers can segment data by injury type, work type, age group, and ethnicity, and compare their practice with others in their region or nationally, for the last three months against the same period a year earlier.
Certifying providers who use this dashboard to review and reflect on their certification data to ‘self-audit’ contributes to their RNZCGP Continuing Professional Development (CPD) points.
Additional features such as a broader date range and more comparison options are planned to be rolled out during April 2026.
Next steps
The new certification dashboard is accessed via CareSuite, provided by BPAC Clinical Solutions. To access the dashboard, practices will need to register to enable CareSuite at caresuite.co.nz/register.
After a practice submits their registration details, BPAC Clinical Solutions will review and set up access which may take a few days.
CareSuite can be accessed through Medtech, Indici, or a standard web browser.
Please note that Indici users must be on version 2.3.4.7, which is expected to be available in mid to late February. Indici will email you when the upgrade is ready.
