Watch the latest update on proposed changes to secondary care
We’re continuing to work with the sector to seek feedback on the design of a clinically-led secondary care model for musculoskeletal injuries, and we’d like your input.
To help you understand what’s proposed, we’ve developed a short video update.
In the video, subject matter experts, Brent Habgood and Kylie Brown, provide an overview of the proposed service, including the client journey, how the triage component will operate and the approach to implementation.
The proposed model aims to provide a more consistent, transparent, and coordinated experience for clients, helping them access the right care at the right time and supporting better recovery outcomes. It would retain all services currently delivered through the Clinical Services contract, along with the addition of some new components. As a result, the Clinical Services contract will be divided into two contracts – one to provide services for people with musculoskeletal injuries and one to support people with non-musculoskeletal injuries.

How we got here
Suppliers, professional bodies, and the Musculoskeletal Secondary Care Clinical Advisory Group have helped shape the design through their feedback, and we’ll continue to meet with the Clinical Advisory Group and sector groups over the next few months to seek input on key details.
