Video transcript for Ethan's story
No one plans to get injured.
You know, it's one of those events that just happens.
So a Recovery Coordinator,
they are the cornerstone
working between a kiritaki (client), employers, providers.
You're collaborating and making sure that everyone
is providing the right service at the right time
to get our kiritaki back to independence.
You're there to help guide them and walk alongside them,
trying to empower them to take back control of their
independence after they've been injured.
Even though you can be behind a desk,
you're still actively engaging
with so many different relationships.
The work that you do does
affect our clients' everyday life.
So, it's so important to be organised,
to be able to communicate progress
that is going on in their pathway,
so that everyone is on the same page
working towards the same goal.
Because you're not only just working with
the kiritaki themselves,
you're working with their family.
You're working with your whānau, their employer.
It's a great feeling being able to actually help them.
