Who we are

Video transcript for Who we are

Since 1974, ACC has been here  to support New Zealanders. We help people recover from injuries so  they can get back to work, independence,
and everyday life. Everyone in Aotearoa New Zealand is covered by our no-fault scheme. That means if you're injured in an accident,
we're here to ensure you get the care you need. Accidents can happen anywhere - at home,
at work, on the road, or during sport. No matter how they happen, we offer the support
you need to return to work or independence. That might include covering medical and treatment costs, help around the home, support to return to work,
or up to 80% of your usual income if  you can't work due to your injury. We also help fund emergency services  like ambulances and rescue helicopters,
so lifesaving support is there  when every second counts.
Our support is set by legislation. This means we can accept claims caused by accidents, but not usually  those caused by illness.
In addition to recovery - we  also work to prevent injuries.
We partner with communities  and organisations to help keep people safe across Aotearoa New Zealand.
ACC is one of the only  schemes like it in the world. We're here to support you so you  can focus on what matters most:
recovering well and getting  back to what's important to you.
